On September 23 I’ll be attending BarCamp Orlando. BarCamp is when a bunch of technology minded people (notice I didn’t say geeks) get together and make presentations of whatever they wish to talk about. This year with over two-hundred people in attendance not all will be able to present so I won’t be. If you plan on attendending leave a comment and let me know. Email works well also.
A few weeks ago I mentioned that I was looking into a widget for Yahoo that displays Pay Per Post stuff. I actually completed it a few days after that post. Meaning it’s been done for two weeks now. Unfortunately I haven’t been allowed to release it.
The first week after completion Ted was out of the office. Tuesday he came back and I pounced on him to look at it. He likes the concept but the graphics were to plain for him. He really is very picky about how things look. So the widget is in Marty’s capable hands to pretty it up. I’ve seen glances at it and it does look good.
I asked Marty today about how long it may take and his response was the second graphic version is in Ted’s hands to review. Just as I was leaving Marty told be he needs to work on version 3. I really hope this isn’t going to take to much longer as I’m doing this on my time and I don’t want to start another project just to stop and finish another. Sheesh.
I’m eager to get this widget out but it seems I (we) may have to wait.
Although I took Riff Raff Radio down about a year ago it was because the time involvement was truly expensive. What I mean is that I was spending eight hours on a Sunday prepering the featured artists for the following weeks playlist. Certainly I could’ve been spending time with the family or working on paying jobs at the time. I had to make a decision and decided to put Riff Raff Radio on hold.
Part of this decision was due in part that it actually exploded beyond what I thought it would. I had contacted so many different musical genres that I really needed to consider running a radio network of different musical styles. Add to this the syndicated programs that I was re-broadcasting muddled Riff Raff itself. This was not the direction I wanted it to go.
Now a year later I have decided that Riff Raff Radio is something I want to continue to persue. However it will be once again a pusuit of something that I want to do and not something that I need to do.
Chances are if you’re reading this you may not like Riff Raff Radio as it plays Goth, Industrial, Metal, and Darkwave. To date the biggest fan base actually comes out of Germany. So if this style isn’t your cup of tea then that’s fine. If it’s what you like listening to
